Bionic users. If you are like me then you installed the leaked updates as soon as they came out not knowing that they would take you off the update path. For the last several weeks you might have been racking your brains trying to think of a way to get back to the upgrade path. Worry no more! P3Droid of Mydroidworld has developed a super easy 1-click script that will return your device to the upgrade path. It doesn't matter what system version you are on. It will even work if you are coming directly from a custom Rom!
What does this script do? It will first push both of the necessary update.zip files to your sdcard (the 5.5.893 and then the 5.5.901), then it will do everything necessary to restore the phone to stock 5.5.886, next it will root the current build, It will then reboot the phone to recovery and you can install both updates , then it will reboot and root the phone.
It should be noted that if you run this script all the way through updating to 5.5.901 you will loose root. To retain root you will need to stop after flashing the first update, boot into 5.5.893 and run the R3leased Root n 43ver Root by Dhacker. Once you have applied the 43ver Root it will be safe to boot back into the stock recovery and flash the final 5.5.901 update. You will now be on the upgrade path and rooted to boot! Some users have also reported that some custom roms run great on the latest build!
