All, i've had my D1 for a while now and just recently rooted it, now I want to start playing around with ROMs. There are just so many that I don't really know where to start. I am kinda leaning towards either the GPAs or Bugless Beast but then again I could be persuaded to try something else. Really all i'm looking for is something stable, decent battery life, customizable and if possible doesn't have all the bull**** apps that i would never actually use but cant remove from a stock system (i.e. amazon mp3 store, google goggles, twitter, etc). Also, are there any that use the HTC Sense UI? I like how that looks, or is it possible to load that on BB or GPA? Thanks!

2nd on SS, but i got real good stability on droid concepts. DC is a froyo rom and SS is a gingerbread rom. Both are amazing with my d1 and i run a Chevyno1 kernel on both.

I also enjoy miui because it does not look anything like an android phone, completely different experience. But sourcery has been magically stable on my phone.

Just keep in mind that every rom will act different on every phone. Some are pretty stable on my phone, but not so stable on my wife's phone.

    Enjoy your new addiction.

I'm running Project Elite 6.5 with no problems. Stable and 16-18 hours of battery life with moderate use. I'm using corcor's 1.1 Ghz LV kernel.

Ok, so i looked at a few of the screenshots for Sourcery and it looks pretty nice, guess it cant hurt to try it out. (i may try the others as well). Now, to install i need to download the file in your signature and rename it update.zip, then move it to / on my sd card and boot into recovery mode, then apply update.zip and wipe data and cache, right? are there any other steps?

If you are using cwm recovery you don't need to rename it to update.zip you can keep it as is and just select it and flash it after wiping data and cache.
The File is the one you download through the Sourcery 2.2 Kang - Full version thread.
First boot after install can take 2 - 3 minutes, just reboot again and you will be up and running with the best Rom experience out there.

Yes, there is an app included with the Rom called Led Me Know, it offers a lot of customization to the Led light and apps that use it.

smokiedabong, is that bugless beast v0.6.2.1 or one of his GPA ports? I think I may try that one next. Sourcery is pretty nice too, once i got the LEDs working.

I always end up coming back to Droid Concepts. It runs best by far on my phone in comparison to other roms.

Liquid ROMs for my D1 with a Chevy kernel is a dream.

    Features: Go for LGB 2.6

    Stability: Go for LFY 1.96

A week ago, I would've agreed with you. I don't know what happened, but I've been having some major issues with PE just in the last 4-5 days. I've wiped everything about 12 times, recovered to my backup, downloaded PE again and reinstalled...still major problems. FYI, it sucks when your PHONE tells you that the Android app PHONE(dialer) is not responding and you have to FC. It feels more like a really hard scrotal kick catching both boys, rather than an uncomfortable flick to one or the other with a normal FC.

Please note, I loved PE for the last month or two. Today is probably the worst "phone day" I've had since bugless went Froyo, so I'm bitter.
