Ive played around with UD and BB, both of their newest versions. Both are SOO laggy, anything good GB based for the OG, or should I just go back to Froyo?

I don't have a Droid 1, but I have heard great things about ChevyNo1's SS ROM for the OG Droid. I use SS for my Droid X and its awesome.

SSX v2.0

CyanogenMod 7? You can also try Peter Alfonso's 2.3.4's vanilla ROM's. Worked perfectly on my DROID.

I use MIUI right now, and it runs like a boss for me. (Takes a while to properly configure it for great performance, however.)

Droid concepts is my preference. Just about every droid has atleast some issues running gingerbread. That's why I like Droid Concepts....its Froyo and I've had a flawless experience with it.

And personally I flip between SS, Liquid, and Project Elite

Droid concepts if you wanna stay with froyo

MIUI if you want to be on the cutting edge of android progression, currently at 2.3.4.

Miui is cutting edge? Lol

I would say yes it is. They are the only ones to totally rewrite the framework. Nobody else has come close to the built in level of customization that MIUI has.

end of line...

+1 for these 3. I have been switching between these as well. SS started acting up on me, so I switched to LGE v1.95 and it was great, but then checked out PE and I like PE alittle more than LGE.

My chooses in order:
1. Project Elite
2. Liquid Gingerbread
3. Simply Stunning

Can I add to the question?

Which one is best for performance? Has the least processes running the in background?

My OG Droid is rooted, and it's running a low voltage kernel at 1000mhz, but it's slow as crap because everytime I pull u the task manager I have 30MB of free space and 15-20 phantom apps services running. Any ROMs out there that will keep these killed unless I actually boot up the apps, and keep her running fast?

SS 5.4 W chevyno1 kernels

Anyone know why I have ss5.4 with chevyno1 tools and cyanogenmod settings?

Either way i found I had to set the cpu speed in both chevy tools and cyanogenmod settings for them to take effect.
