im currently running chevy's ulv 1.25 ghz. i was wondering if there is a better kernel speed wise. Im not really sure how far i can push my phone, i am kind of new to the rooting, roms, and kernels. I just want a good kernel and im not sure if im using a good one or not. thanks

1.25GHz is pretty ballsy. I would say stick with an 800Mhz kernel. The apparent speed to you as a user depends a lot on the build and how many apps you're running...not to mention how the kernel is coded.

Stick with the 1.25ghz. Sure you may be able to go to 1.3-1.35 but it's honestly not worth it or much of a difference. But if you think the pro's outweigh the con's go for it! If you're that worried about cpu speed I'd say get an x/dinc or wait for the d2 and oc it ;)

Depends on what you are trying to do with your droid.

If you want a battery saving droid, go with a ultra-low voltage kernel (125Mhz) with 5 slots and use setcpu and set the max at 300 or so. It will last forever on a charge but will NOT be very fast.

If you want a blazing fast droid, get a standard voltage kernel (250Mhz) with 7 slots and set it at 1250. It will run fast as hell but with heat and battery issues.

Anything else is in between these two scenarios. Remember, the more slots you have in your kernel, the more cpu settings you will have.
