I have tried Cyanogenmod and ChevyNo1 ROMs on the OG Droid and have had a lot of issues. Buggy, poor battery life, ect. I am trying to find a ROM that is stable with good battery life. Is there an offering from Bugless Beast that I might want to try before just throwing in the towel and going back to stock?

You need to take any ROM for a spin yourself. Don't assume that the issues you experience are universal and vice versa.

I can appreciate that. That is why I have tried two already and willing to go to a third. I just don't have the time to run through all 20 or so and would like some advice that might tilt the odds in my favor of finding a good one on my next try.

I've been using Bugless Beast V0.6.2.1 for the past couple of months on my OG Droid. I recently flashed it on my dad's OG D1 and it's running great. Battery life is good and it is quick enough. Check out the Supercharged script too... Makes a big difference.

I quit Gingerbread because battery life was horrible.

Droid Concepts builds are also great. The droid concepts team continues to develop for the OG using froyo and it will stay that way. I love it even if for no other reason than the extremely low temps that I can't seem to get with other roms. See the Droid 1 link in my signature.

Thanks very much, I may give the DC ROM a whirl. Are there screenshots anywhere?

Lets see...it depends on what you want in a rom...
Basic froyo (almost stock)- probably bugless beast or Droid concepts
    Feature filled froyo- sourcery rom

    Basic gingerbread- winners cyanogenmod builds
Feature filled gingerbread- liquid rom, simply stunning (though it apparently doesnt work well for you) and project elite

All the above are basically the best that I've seen for what category they fall into
Oh and for a whole new android experience try miui.us rom, nothing else is like it here
