Ok, So I want to DL an app to underclock my phone when the screen is off to help the battery life on my Rooted Nexi.

I've heard about SetCPU but wondering if there is a better one

Android Overclock

Any opinions on these or others that I could use?

Thanks guys, appreciate it!

I don't overclock as 1.2ghz is plenty fast, but I use no frills to underclock while screen is off. Preset on Max and min settings.:hail:

Sorry, SetCPU is the only one I have used. I've had no problems with it.

I purchased Android Overclock last year and it worked great for a while but now it closes out and reboots my phone whenever I open it. Jrummy (the developer), has done alot of awesome things for the community which is why I bought it. While it offers alot of great features, I refer to "Milestone Overclock" as my ol' reliable, due to its simplicity and stability. Be careful with overclocking as well, experiment at frequencies that aren't too high. So for example, if your processor is 1ghz, try cranking it up to 1.1ghz, and work your way up from there. Researching your cpu, and knowing its theoretical clock speed, and whether it was downclocked or overclocked for the phone is something to take into account as well.

I just Googled it, and apparently the max that you should clock it at is 1500mhz, or 1.5ghz.

SetCPU works so I haven't bothered trying any others.

Also if you are a member on xda. You can get SetCPU for free. Just search the threads. The owner has it posted there. Its the same as you would get from the paid one in market.

I was just reading about AnTuTu CPU Master Pro today. I like the fact that it has a widget that shows what you are running at and shows battery temp. I may try that one.

AnTuTu has been around for a while with their benchmark app and I just happened to notice the CPU app in the market today. So that's where I was reading about it!
