Hey guys, I have seen a few apps on here in the market and I don't wanna buy the wrong one, what is your suggestion and why as to buying this app?

I have seen a lot of people recommend Open Home, and something else called AHome, can anyone lend some info on these or any others that let you customize the homescreen up a bit?

Sorry if this is posted somewhere already :(

Best thing would be to try them out and see which works best for you. You can always refund within 24 hours ;)

Its true about being able to get a refund in 24 hrs if you don't like something, but I went from GDE to Home ++. Best bet would be to try them out.

I personally love home ++ , its stable, doesnt eat up too much memory and it gives a lot of freedom (AND ITS FREE :) ) to me , home ++ is like the original home on steriods..
but like the rest said, try a couple different onces and see which one works for you. .

Droid would be so much better if stock had a super smooth homescreen like sense.... So i had no other choice but to go to home ++ i love it but dislike the fact that i have to use an app to make my phone more snappy when the phone itself is capable of doing fine without it. Wish Sense would be ported somehow lol. But yea i tried Open home, GDE, and Pandahome, home ++ also have 2.1 Android running with the 5 screens which is nice but still laggy... Home++ came out to be the most stable and smooth for me and its getting better.

BacknBlack - jealous of your live wallpapers :) i'll just have to wait since I won't let myself 'root' (recovering OCD with OS's *ex Storm owner*)

Home++ gets my vote for now... once 2.1 hits with 5 screens I'll rethink a home replacement... although I love the auto-hide feature of the notification bar in Home++.... and the bottom bar... so I can have a 'Phone' button on my screen at all times.

The only reason I am comfortable with it is due to the constant babying of the Storm I had....And if I Brick it, I'll buy another...

    Home++ is great!

They just added a new feature. Tap the menu button, and it works as normal, but long press on it, and you get thumbnail images of all of your home screens, allowing you to simply tap on the one you want, to jump right to it!

    Brilliant!

    And... it's FREE.

Yeah, I loved the 2.1, but it's a little too buggy for my taste. Especially coming from a Storm, right Backnblack,, lol
Went back to 2.0.1 after a few days of running it. Can't wait for the final release though, that's for damn sure.
So now I'm running GDE, and with a little modding and use of BetterCut, I ended up with this, for now.
Runs fine for me, no lag issues, and no FC's.

I have used Home++ but it it seems that it only changes it to there screen. What about some of the custom themes that other programs like GDE offer? Can you do this with Home++?

One nice thing is that you can try Home++ or GDE or Panda or dxTop and see what works best for you. There's an app called Home Switcher, which makes it easy to change. Make one a default for a week and then switch to another. Currently I'm using Home++, but GDE is pretty cool.

I'm using Home++ and like it the best. I've tried the free version of DXTop, which is good, but do not like the refresh every 30 minutes and don't like it enough to pay for it just yet. Panda Home has come a long way and if they could anchor some frequently used apps like Home++ has at the bottom of the screen I think it would be a winner. The major problem I have with Panda is it force closes on me alot. Home++ does force close as well, but not nearly as much and Panda was actually freezing my screen to the point of having to ctrl alt delete and reboot. Home++ offers some AWESOME tools like one poster said about long pressing Home and pulling up your open apps to quickly switch between, priceless. For me, that along with the dock at the bottom, make this a winner and it's FREE. I would actually pay for Home++ though, it's really that cool.

I would say check the free ones first. With that being said, dxTop is nice but its somewhat laggy and from the reviews of people around here gde seems to work well. I'm a launcher+ user now though ... its free, lets you just add screens no extras so its basically just the default setup with more screens.
