In the BBv1.1 thread it says specifically ONLY TO USE THE KERNALS THAT PETE PROVIDES, and I'm sure he knows what he is talking about, but is it possible to use p3droid's kernals on Bugless v1.1? Is anyone using them? And if so where can I find them?

    Thanks,
    Brick

Pete has included functionality in V1.1 that allows you to switch different kernels with impunity. Personally I recommend P3 as they seem more stable, cooler, and have better battery life. BBv1.1 w/ P3 1.2 has literally been flawless on my phone.

Here's the website, but I can't guarantee how fresh the kernels are:

Your better bet is to download the kernels from within ROM Manager under Cyanogen extras.

Thanks, I'll try the one from the website cause I honestly don't know how to use Rom Manager. :icon_eek: Everything is all greyed out except for FlashClockworkMod Recovery and Reboot Into Recovery......

    I'll post back my "results".

Yes the p3 kernels were the coolest running for me. The bekit got around 50c with a half hour of internet usage. I have a thread a few below here with a little more info.

Well I just installed the p3droid 1000mhz kernal. So far, its the same as the Bekit 1000ghz kernal, I might try going down to the 900 maybe that will bring the temps down. I'm doing nothing on my phone right now getting 41.0C, seems pretty hot to me. Any suggestions??

One other thing I did was switch to the nextheme. I had the smoked glass before when I was having heat issues. Not sure if it is related or not.

Does Pete's CPU throttling script work with the P3 kernels?

If he wants full functionality of RM, he needs the premium version. I never said it would solve all his problems.

Alright guys the p3droid kernals seem to be working better now. I'm idling around 25.0C, way better then the 41.0 I was getting with bekits kernals. I'll post back on how the battery life is later.

Please do report back with battery life.. bb 1.0 w/ bekit 800 MHZ gave me awesome battery life.. but I can't say the same for 1.1 with bekit 1GHz.

There are posts by Pete all over the V1.1 sticky about this, other kernel's will work and his script only ramps up and down the speed, so yes it will work. SetCPU can be used on V1.1 with no side effects. V1.0 I believe that you would have to disable the "pete" file or change the script to use SetCPU, I COULD BE WRONG ABOUT THIS (V1.0). I have used both kernels on V1.1 and noticed a slight difference in temps with P3's but have no problem with Bekit's. ( I use SetCPU for the profiles and temperature guard. )

if you're using SetCPU with BB, just delete the pete script. I'm running a P3 1ghz right now (set to 250 -> 800) and I feel like I'm getting better battery life than I did with the bekit, doing the same thing. but its all device dependent; what works for one person doesn't work for all, so just keep trying different kernels till you find something that runs cool enough for you, and gives you the battery life you're looking for.
