For those users that have an iPod Touch/iPhone,

I recently found that the latest to the facebook application let's users sync their contacts with it. I also have gmail set up as an exchange account on the iPod, and my contact pictures were permenantly replaced with the facebook ones.

Mind you, it doesn't sync the same way as in Android, it actually modifies your Google contacts that sync with your phone.

So you have some options if you have your contacts synced in both places:

    1. Don't use the sync feature (obviously)
    2. Turn off contact syncing on the Apple device
    3. Don't have Google contacts synced as an Exchange account.

Side note: the facebook app also puts the mobile app link for each person it is synced with, as their "website" within each contact (not usable outside of the iPhone)

I"m sorry, I wasn't clear. If you have contacts synced with your Droid, the iPhone app will modify your contacts.

For example, if you set the sync on the iPhone/Ipod, then when you go back to your Droid, your custom pictures will have been overwritten completely. They won't just be "covered up" like the android/facebook sync.

That's why this is Droid relevant.

Something to bear in mind in the unlikely event that all cell phone manufacturers other than Apple go out of business.
