When I format SDcard then install BB 6.2 all is fine. Low temps. Saphire / CHevy kernels are good. The second I add MP4 movies (made from DVD),CPU heats up. Phone freezes. Must do Battery pull.

Removed MP4 Movies and temp is low again.

The tremendous response to this question tells me people here don't add DVD movies to their Droid (DVD Cat4).

Earlier versions of BB let me store MP4 movies on the sdcard with no heat issues. Possibly its a changed codec?

This whole problem doesn't really make sense. What you store on your SD card has no effect on CPU usage. Perhaps trying to watch it could, but simply having it on there shouldn't mess anything up

A circular ring appears on desktop - scanning sdcard? That's when droid temp goes to 150F. Removing mp4 files, drops droid temp to 75F. Maybe it's my droid antivirus app.
