battery will not charge while in dock

I have a Droid 4 that I use for everything including gps nav and audio streaming. I have the Motorola windshield mount for my phone. Here recently when ever I dock my phone and use it for audio and nav the battery gets hot and the device does not charge. Under normal use I have no issues charging my device. Full specs are below. Any ideas on why its doing this and a way to correct it?

I forgot to mention that the device does show that it is charging while it is docked, but the power just steadily goes down

I have the same issue. I don't know if it has to do with the update or not. But, couple months ago, I could listen to Pandora or Sirius while charging, for my daily hour commute. Or from a full battery, without charging, I would be around 70% after the drive. Now, charging will initiate for a few minutes, then stop and suck the life out of my battery. Also, these same apps will knock the battery life to below 50% with ease, during my drive. What's up with that?
