Battery Use - Maps

When I go into the battery use section on my phone, it shows that 44% of my battery is being used by Google Maps. This app is not running anywhere, or being used in any other application. Any idea how to fix this problem?

settings/applications/runningservices and clic whatever u wanna stop...or get apollo task killer...
