I recently went back to my DROID X from a DROID 3 . I bought new battery
for the handset but new battery seems to drain quickly if not
Continuously connected to charger.
so many app's to choose from what are you all using? With decent results.

Battery Saver suggestion help

Ok Rabid after doing some home work. Im not rooted or Rom'd. Does this help in operation and
battery life by performing these tasks?
Thanks D3roid

I found that the display is the biggest user of electricity, and this is what I do:

I keep auto brightness off, and keep the brightness setting on minimum.
I find the screen is bright enough for indoor use.

For the rare occasions that I am using the Droid-X outdoors, I turn auto brightness back on.

It helped me a lot and I like all the features Roms have over stock. But just with rooting, you can undervolt. As far as performance. Its amazing in my opinion. Along with all this, you need to know your stuff and read before you act.

+1 I keep mine at a minimum unless outside or when I want a nice picture.

Juice Defender. I have preached it forever and still do. Pay for it and love it.

Also...screen timeout time set low (15 or 30 seconds), brightness down, turn off the screen manually when you aren't using it. These few little tips are a good start to great battery. My X was easily going over a full day of real use with JD, ROM'ed, and rooted
