battery issues help

My Droid X has been saying that I have an invalid battery and I couldn't figure out what was causing the problem. So i e-mailed motorola and ended up getting a battery in the mail from them. I got the battery and popped it into the phone and still an invalid battery. So then I went to verizon and asked them if they were able to do anything and they said that they couldnt do anything in the store. Then the guy working if I ever rooted my phone and me being 14 with my dad and not wanting to get in trouble I said that I did but my phone is not rooted anymore and the problem was not caused by the root. So I told motorola that the battery did not fix the problem and that they offered me to send my phone in and see If they can fix it what should I do?

Never admit to root. EVER.

You can try an sbf maybe...

I have already done an SBF and it didn't do anything but I heard of a SBF to possibly fix the battery problem but I am not sure about it

i guess you can try installing the droid 2 bootloader and then wipe battery stats. but that would require root.
