After the update my battery would last less than 12 hours. It was never great to begin with even new. I replaced it with this, Onite 1785 mah:

I was skeptical about it due to the price but now for example I'm at 60% after 16.5 hours. It also comes with a torx. I've had the phone since it first came out and during that time the adhesive holding the original battery must have weakened, probably due to heat. It didn't take much to lift it out.

Just to give an update to this thread (haven't been around for awhile), I would like to note that the original battery tried to basically go nuclear on me  I think the battery I had was just a dud and needed replacement anyway. Once I swapped it with a new (not bulging) battery, my Droid 4's lifespan was very content.

So yeah... for anyone else out there with battery issues, replacing the battery on a Droid 4 is pretty painless and is well worth however much you put into it.
