So this phone is basically a bionic that is really thin with a samoled screen and no removable battery. Meaning no battery pull should you completely fubar something correct?

no SD slot in the nexus so.... might as well just wait for a few years. Any suggestions will this be worth it or not. Pentile doesn't bother me so....

Would it not bother you as much if you knew there was a reset button?

Question: Why don't they all have a reset button? Even a hidden or recessed one? I got paper clips and know how to use them.

Because they can use a combination of the existing buttons to do a reset.

that's not a bad thing for sure then, I really want to play with it before I start jumping headfirst into selling my bionic though. I love the idea of the nexus but.... no sd card >_> sure 32gb of internal but... I like being able to swap SD at will

some how missed this.

so it's a bionic that's a world phone, but slimmer >_> never used the world phone capabilities on my D2G or my tour or storm so I'm not worried about that

guess I just have to wait for both to hit store shelves then I'll go and check them out.

From the specs i read its nowhere close to a bionic. Internal battery, carbon fiber back, bigger battery, super amoled screen and thinner. The bionic is not even near it.

let's see, the screen, though a different technology, is the same size, same ppi and SAME resolution. it's just pentile vs super amoled (yes samoled is better)

the RAZR uses a slightly overclocked cpu, but the SAME ONE, it has the same amount of built in memory, same amount of ram, gorilla glass screen like the bionic, and is uses gingerbread, (granted it's 2.3.5 not 2.3.4 but... ICS is supposed to be out soon.

so the RAZR has a kevlar back, is uber thin, get's "supposedly" better battery time, according to the websites I've found" we'll see how true that is when it's released. oh and they both have HDMI and webtop.

so before you start saying they aren't the same ALMOST do some research.

I didn't know there was a reset button which is pretty nice, probably just simply removes the connection to the battery, much easier than pulling the back off.

guess I'll have to wait to actually play with it, I honestly can't wait, but I feel I'll be sticking with the bionic just to save some money, my next upgrade will be when they release a quad core phone I think.

oh and the bionic only weighs 31.8 grams = 0.070 lbs (really only 7/100th of a pound more, better get to the gym ) more than the razr, that kevlar seems to add some weight, and much needed protection.

Because they can use a combination of the existing buttons to do a reset.

But are these not reliant upon the software to actually trigger a mechanical disconnect from the battery? Right now, the hold in of the on/off button on most droids triggers a software command. But if the software is so screwed up it can't do it, a battery pull is necessary. Same happens with the combination buttons on the iPhone, and sometimes a trip to the iPhone store is necessary; or you pull the battery yourself.

That is why the old fashioned recessed reset button is so nice. It mechanically (physically) disconnects the battery negative circuit from the power supply on the circuit board.

So, will the razr have one of these, or will it be necessary to pull the cover off by removing screws, and if so, will this void the warranty.

Questions that need answers but those answers won't be available until someone posts them on a forum.

I'm pretty sure the answer is already out there. All you need to do is read some xoom forums. Its android and you can't pull the battery. There's a hard reset key combination on those so certainly the interweb must have threads about this type of thing and whether anyone has ever had to take it to a store to repair or swap out.

Because they can use a combination of the existing buttons to do a reset.

If you're talking about the "Power + Volume Up/Down" that's for doing a hard reset to factory settings and for that to work, you first have to turn the phone off. If you get the "Black Screen of Death" like the Bionic has, the buttons won't work to do the reset. And the Xoom reset is Power + Volume Up for 3 seconds but you'd have to try it to see if it works on a RAZR (it doesn't on the Bionic).

Maybe the RAZR won't have that problem.

Not that this is helping, but pulling the battery is the rude way to reset an microprocessor. All you have to do is put a specified pin to ground and it will trigger a reset.

That's why I love reset buttons, if forces a reset no matter what and it doesn't force you to cycle the back cover and the battery.

I hope it doesn't use a touch screen button combo, perhaps if you use the on/off and volume rocker, very important to know before I buy.

My X2 was very stable but I still had to do several battery pulls in the few months I owned it.
