Just got these today. If you REALLY need one, and missed out on these through VZW, PM me your address and I'll send you one.

Has there been a problem with the stock battery door, or was Verizon just giving them away for free?

    yes and yes

Many were having problems with the battery door too easily coming off and getting lost. Me included. Motorola was giving them away but the process was a chore and took a while. Verizon was selling them for $5 each untill a couple of weeks ago they made them free with a limit of 3. That only lasted a short while though, probably due to so many ordering 3 free ones.

the new battery door covers stay on. they are much harder to take off and won't adjust if you try to take it out of your pocket. I guess the piece inside the cover is much thicker which results in a more secure door, it really is a great cover.

HOWEVER, i must say the new cover isn't flush with the camera section of the phone. I've seen complaints about this, but I have none. the new door doesn't add any thickness to the phone and doesn't feel any different. Just mentioning cause it might bug some of you Droiders out there.

You can just bend the front part down and it stays on great.

I am interested in one. I'll pay for shipping and all that. Very generous of you. I am always having my door pop off.
