Battery-charging weirdness...

It did it to me again this morning. I left it on the counter last night with mid-80s% charge, woke up to the 5% warning. Plugged it in, same 5%. Unplugged, replugged, jumped to 60%. Unplugged, it was back up to low 80s%. I'm getting pissed, this thing is going to leave me stranded one of these days.

Same issue

My husband and I have Droids and this has happened to both phones. The battery all of a sudden goes from 90%+ to 5% blinking red stating that it needs to be connected to the charger ASAP. It has also happened after the phone charged overnight. I turn my phone off and back on which has worked in resetting the battery although it's very irritating. This has happened at least five times since I bought my phone in late Jan.
