First smartphone. Someone give me the basics? I want to add a signature to my text. I'm overwhelmed with the info here.

Unfortunately signatures is an option not available in the stock messaging app. Go to the market and download handcent sms. You can add a signature from within the settings menu. After setting up this new messaging app go into the settings menu of the stock app and disable notifications (this is to prevent double notifications from both apps). Handcent is also (unlike the native sms agent) fully customizable.
