bar scanner problems droid x

i have downloaded two different bar scanning apps, shopsavvy, and one other one, and I can't get either one to work. I have followed the instructions, i.e. place the bar code in the square and let the app read it. Nothing happens. Any help or suggestions on this?

Is Barcode the other one? You do have to make sure sure you get the barcode within the box....

barcode scanner problems

The other app is called barcode scanner. I put the barcode tag into the box every way possible. Nothing happened. The barcodes were taken off random merchadise in the store. Is it possible some barcodes don't scan into the droid? This thing is really irritating me. Thanks for the reply.

It could be possible - what have you been trying to scan...on my desk, I have a scotch tape package, bottle of water, small doritos bag, gum and a book from Walden's and they are all scanning fine...have you tried something common to scan...
