Just noticed mine is fraying along one edge. The back also seems to not be stuck down, if that makes sense. It "pops" like the adhesive has a gap under it. Mine is 5 days old so Im hoping to get a new one tomorrow night. I will NOT be getting the ballistic nylon.

Mines frayed a little bit but I'm not too concerned. And my back is "loose" on one side but I thinks it's due to my dash mount maybe bending it some. It clamps pretty tight. Not enough to bother me all the time but I notice it if I hold it a certain way.

2 types of Turbos: those with frays. And those that will fray. They aren't duds or defects. Its a characteristic of BN.
I'll bet anything Moto never uses BN again.

I'm sad to hear all the stories of the nylon fraying. Mine looks as good as it did the day I bought it. I wonder if it's not just a bad batch? the fraying could be because the material was possibly cut just a tiny bit too short and so the overlap inside is insufficient to keep the edges contained. I haven't disassembled one of the back yet to see exactly how the Nilon is it here and therefore gain a better understanding what is triggering the fray. If they weren't so expensive, I'd order a replacement back just to tear it apart and get an idea of what's going on.

I agree... It gets scuffed and rubbed on. It's still fabric so it'll fray some. Like I said, not really worried about it.

I'm not worried about it either. Part of the design is that if one part does fray it won't spread unlike any normal fabric that can come undone.

Motorola sent out a questionnaire about BN quality issues a few weeks back (Motorola feedback network). They apparently are aware of some issues regarding BN.

Me too, but my feedback likely wasn't used since I have a case on my phone.

I laugh (sorta) I have a case on mine and I have frays - where the camera, flashs and Moto hole(s) are in the case.
I'd pass a lighter by if it weren't the camera lense.
Oh well.

Maybe heat a large needle and take to the frays.
