Told someone I would take pictures of the fraying on the Ballistic Nylon model. I'll jst start a fresh thread about it. My phone was dropped once, about 2 feet, but 2 of these frays were there before that. The bigger one and the one next to it. The drop didn't cause the fray, but I'm just mentioning that I dropped it for full disclosure. No it's not very visible but you can feel it which drives me nuts. This is the first time I've seen the 3rd one. The 1st is now bigger.
Apparently happened while in my sleeve?!?!? Horrible material...

/Sidenote/ Love my DSLR. Still no phone that can replace it.

Didn't even notice until I looked at that pic that there are a few more strands sticking out towards the left in pic #1. Odd that the other side of the phone is still perfect.
HORRIBLE material...

I don't get it. Seems pretty common if you Google it...

Should have replaced it when you first got it. If I recall correctly you noticed it when you first got it didn't you?
Got an idea.....take a lighter and......oh nevermind. LOL

A little heat may help, but probably not worth the effort.

It was perfect out of the box. First one I noticed was maybe 3 weeks in. You know what that means: refurb.

I have bad luck with phones. I've never finished a contract with my original phone except that very first, built like a tank, OG Droid.
My RAZR HD went back 2 times for various warranty covered issues.
So far, this one is great. Its not worth getting a refurb to me (nor is it at all fair, IMO. You should get brand new anytime under warranty) over a few.... split hairs. Har!
Although I have to wonder if my battery is defective. I've never made it even to bed in one day. 2 days my......foot.

I would say that getting a lighter really hot.. Then blow out the flame.. Then barely touch the fray with the metal part of the lighter.. Or just do nothing.. I'd probably leave it alone..

Thanks. I appreciate the suggestions. I do have a soldering iron somewhere. I'm not worried about but if it gets worse I mat try that. Lighter idea is good, too.

The soldering iron is a bad idea.. It could easily do more damage than good.. Even a little 15w pencil gets hot enough to really easily melt alot more than the tiny frays.. Just my opinion

Thanks for the concern. We really have some great people in this forum.
I'm pretty good with an iron, though. I bet I could touch those frays without really touching the case itself.
