backround data

    What's this? I turned it off because it said turning it off eould extend battery life. Should thhis be turned on?

    things like facebook and weather widgets need this to stay up to date. if u wanna save battery and still keep them updated, lengthen the refresh rate for the apps.

    i just bnoticedalso t he market wont work without it. im going to keepp it off and when i use something that needs it it asks me if iwant to enable it o ill just enable it when i need it.

    Data is required by everything on your Droid aside from phone and texts.
