avi movies

    can the Droid play aviation files and how do I view them...

    I can't seem to find a media player on the phone...

    thats a wierd one cuz the it wont play avi or gif files but moto site said it would but my G1 didnt either

    the "media player" is the gallery. If the Droid will play it, it will show up in the gallery, no matter where you put the file.

    If it doesn't show up then it needs to be converted to a different video format.

    Ok this is a weird one because just because it has a .avi at the end doesn't mean it was encoded with a supported format. I can encode a .avi with mpeg-4 ecoding, which would play, but it you encode it otherwise it may not. I have some .avi's that will play, and some that will not.
