Autofocus does not work

    I don't know what to do, but I cannot get my camera to focus. Anyone else having this problem?

    Is the autofocus on? while in camera go options and look.

    Otherwise My last droid did not focus and i think it had garlic butter in it. But I took it back to verizon and got a new one for free

    Is this a brand new Droid? If so you may still be on the old 2.0 software. There was a camera focus bug fixed in the 2.0.1 update which you should receive shortly (again if this is a new Droid).

    not brand new... got it around new years. safe to assume i haven't received the update yet?

    how do you know it's not focusing? are you getting the red box? are you in macro mode? auto focus mode? infinite mode?

    what happens if you just take pics in infinite?

    I am in auto focus mode... I get the red box and it beeps twice but will not focus. This is actually the case for all camera modes. Its constantly blurry.

    Check your firmware version in Settings -> About Phone. If it is on 2.0.1 then you should have the autofocus fix.

    called verizon today - did a restore to factory settings and now it works just fine. has anyone else had this issue before? the lady i spoke with said it was the first one she'd ever heard of...

    So the factory reset worked for a day and now the camera is doing the exact same thing. They're sending me a new one this weekend, but they are baffled as to why this is happening. Nobody I spoke w/on the technical side had heard of this happening to other Droids before.

    Mine is doing the same.... already have replaced the phone once due to the earpiece dying. This will be interesting in terms of swapping the phone out every few month :-(
