I am sick to death of the stupidly dim auto-brightness hack included in BB 0.5. I can't figure out why Pete included it in the first place. That being said, I am aware there is a patcher for it available.

However, I've done some extensive theming to my phone and, as the patch is a whole framework-res.apk (which will override my theme) I was wondering if someone could tell me the exact file(s) within framework-res that have been modified, so I can just extract them from the patched file and stick them in my own?

    Thanks.

It's resources.arsc. If you want to mess around with the brightness levels yourself, you can open it up in a hex editor, and the following values seem to be the brightness levels:

    Offset 0x71E20: Minimum brightness
Offset 0x71E2C: Next level of brightness
Offset 0x71E38: Next level of brightness
    Offset 0x71E44: Maximum brightness

Of course, make a backup, and don't blame me if something goes wrong when editing the values manually ;)

Far easier to just edit the source and rebuild the apk

I ran the patcher on my framework-res.apk, and it did not affect my theme or anything else. My guess is it just changes the values it needs to regarding the min brightness and leaves everything else alone.

That's because you are running the stock theme, the same thing that the patched frame-res.apk is...... if you run a custom theme like BnB or Smoked Glass, then applying this patch would overwrite everything that is included in the custom themes framework-res
