When I try to make a backup using SPRecovery (0.99.3b) I get an error:

ERROR: Nandroid exited with status 31

Anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

I am running Froyo 2.2 FRF57 38829 test-keys with the stock kernel OCed to 800 (2.6.32.9-g103d848 android-build@apa26#1). Was running the FRFXX with P3's 800 OC kernel. Same problem.

    Thanks,

    Nate

This error code has come up a few times in past threads and I've never seen a good answer. I would suggest going into Rom Manager and flash Clockwork and then re-flash SpRecovery and try your backup again. There have recently been some weird SpRecovery issues that were corrected by the reflashing of the recovery programs.

    Good luck.

Since I don't use Rom Manager or Clockwork I suppose the answer is to rsdlite the SPRecovery again. Is there an update.zip to install SPRecovery over itself? Probably not.

Backup everything on your SD card to computer. Then format SD card using Android, do not format with pc.

Here's how I did it before Rom Manager:

    Update Sprecovery

Download Sprecovery and put it on your sdcard: http://downloads.droidmod.org/recovery-0.99.3.img

Open one of the available Terminal Emulators and type the following:

    su

    flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.3.img

    reboot recovery

This could be the whole problem. I had to replace my SD card about a week ago. I'm pretty sure it came pre-formatted. I do not recall formatting it with the Droid. I'll give this a shot first. Thanks.

Copied all my data from SD Card to computer. Formatted SD using Droid. Copied all data from PC back to SD Card. Performed a Nandroid Backup flawlessly.

Life is Good again. Thanks for the help guys.

^wonder if this is my problem too, I ejected my sdcard for the first time last week, using the unmount memory card procedure but ever since then anything I backup using ClockWork does not restore properly and I have to restore a backup from two weeks ago, and spr gives me an error and won't back up at all

I will reformat my sdcard and see if it helps

I Reformated my SD card and was able to back up and restore with SPR, I wonder if that was my problem with CWRecovery too? I will post back later when I find out, I am putting all of my music back on my SD and with having a nandroid to fall back on I don't have anymore reservations about delving back into the system of my Droid
