Not sure I understand what you are asking. Are you wanting help rooting your 2.1 Droid? Are you wanting any particular ROM or are you wanting to go to Froyo?

I am running a stock droid with 2.1 on it. I also use a Mac as my desktop and laptop. I want to be able to use the phone as a wifi tether. I understood ( I think ) that I need to root it to do so.
What is the best way to do that with what I have?
Any help will be VERY appreciated.
    Thank you,
    P

Does your Mac have windows on it? It needs a solid copy installed in bootcamp, not a virtual copy.

Laptop has Windows Vista in Boot Camp.
Anything special I need to do through that?
Will it access the USB ports etc... adequately?
Do you know of any Mac equivalent that can allow me to do this without using Boot Camp?
    Thank you again.
I apologize for the newb questions.
