OK so here we go...don't laugh at me. XD

I was wondering to switch from one ROM to another can I while on one ROM put another ROMs file on my phone, rename it update.zip, boot into recovery , clear my caches, then apply the update.zip?

How I was switching ROMs before was I had to plug into my lap top flash to stock reroot THEN apply the ROM. I think I can do this but I don't wanna do it if it could brick me. Also if I do root like that...do I always have to reflash these jelly bean radio?

Nope, the radios don't change. Man, you were doing a lot of work for nothing! You can have multiple rom zips on your phone and jump around if you like without a problem. You will have to wipe data when switching between them though.
