Recently I wrote an multi-article editorial on T-Mobile’s new “Uncarrier” strategy. Little did we all know, the other carriers were watching and waiting to see what the numbers looked like, and if there were people jumping ship. I’m certain they were also deciding how to market their “new” strategy for month-to-month contracts and phone upgrades.

Now I’ve read close to 10 articles reporting on this and sharing their opinions on the plans, so I’ll give you a few of my views. T-Mobile was the first to do this, and they created the hype. Their strategy worked in my eyes. Not only did they create excitement, they made us look more closely at how they are doing business. The excitement was for the plans, and the phone “lease” program. The strategy was to explain how other carriers do business, and how they are going to start doing it differently.
