apps on SD card not in app tray

Has anyone noticed this? I have several apps on my SD card and they do not show up in the app tray. I can access them through folder organizer and put them in a "desktop folder", but they are not available in the tray. Angry Birds is one of these, and showed up in the tray at first, but then disappeared from the tray.
