I have SS4.7 and went into chevy tools and it said patches were isntalled, but I didnt apply anything.

I noticed it put zip files on my SD card. Batt_data_media and Pandora_weatherbug.

Do I need to boot into recovery and apply these two files as update.zip?

I just assumed it appied them at the time I went into chevytools.

I used ROM manager to install them. Install rom from sd card. No renaming needed. No wipe or back up needed.

done, I know I dont have to rename update.zip, but I use SPrecovery on my girls phone, and it doesnt hurt to rename to update.zip in clockwork recovery...so I do it anyway, just so I am doing the same process no matter which phone I am applying updates to.

And yes...apparently, in chevy tools when you get the pop up that updates are available and install them, it reboots to recovery, but doesnt apply the .zip files. You have to manually go in and install update files from recovery.

I didnt know that till now.
