Sorry your post was hiding it seems!
The Core 2 Duo iMacs are a lot better but the i7 iMac that has the Quad Core alos has the higher end graphics card (more onboard RAM)
Honestly if you have the money get the i7, because you are stuck with whatever processor you get, they are never upgradeable. You can get away with one of the higher end Core 2 Duos, but notice a huge difference in the i7's
