Multitasking was just announced and demo'd. Steve made it out to be a huge deal, and tried to explain why they were so much better than everyone else with it and why they're years late with it.

Long story short: It works exactly like Android, and he didn't explain anything. lol.

"Thanks Scott. It's no exaggeration to say that the iPhone has changed the future of Pandora. I could take this little guy out of my pocket and choose music to suit my needs."

Changed the future of Pandora? How, exactly?

Also, I'm talking to a few fanboys right now who are seriously creaming themselves. Stupid idiots... apparently some of them didn't realize that Android has been doing this and doing it well for a looooong time.

Congratulations on being a day late to the party, Apple. :)

QUOTE ON THIS: "We have a lot of free or reasonably priced apps... we like that, but our devs have to find ways to make money. So our devs are putting ads into apps, and for lack of a better way to say it, we think most of this kind of advertising sucks."

Lol it is pretty ridiculous how they are over exaggerating multi tasking. But, even though android has been doing this for years, I guarantee everyone will totally forget and not even acknowledge the fact that they are copying android and just trying to compete against android by implementing multi tasking capabilities into their devices. I bet that now, android will probably be in the in the shadows until a newer better android device is released. Apple will probably reign supreme until then...

I guess that way, if you like what you see advertised, you wont be put onto a web site..you actually buy whatever service or product that is being advertised right from the same app you see the advertisement is on.

LOL! Just got done watching the "Me too" press conference. Steve Jobs has proven to me now, without a doubt, that he is the most egotistical, self-righteous tool on the planet. He just previewed the Android OS for the most part as it has existed since v1.6. This has got to be the absolute funniest thing I have ever seen, EVER. When all was said and done I thought it was a parody, really.

Update: Here's a big "lose some" -- only the iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G will support multitasking. The iPhone 3G and below won't -- Steve says the hardware doesn't support it. Sad face.

    lmao!!!

"11:29AM Ryan Block from GDGT: What about running unsigned apps? Steve: You know, there's a porn store for Android. Anyone can download them. You can, your kids can. That's just not a place we want to go." -engadget.

11:23AM Also, when Steve was asked if there were plans to add Flash or java, his response was a flat: No.

11:40AM Q: How do you close applications when multitasking? A: (Scott) You don't have to. The user just uses things and doesn't ever have to worry about it. (Steve) It's like we said on the iPad, if you see a stylus, they blew it. In multitasking, if you see a task manager... they blew it. Users shouldn't ever have to think about it.

    Sound familar?
