    If you're rooted, there are several available. Drocap2 and Shootme are the most popular.

    Is this only possible to do if you are rooted? So far I am not.

    I believe you can do it with an unrooted phone if you install the Android SDK.

    Shootme says it usually works will unrooted phones as well as rooted.

    Which is the one i see on people's screenshots? Looks like a camera in the upper left of their screen? I see it all the time.

    That is DroCap and it requires root.

    you can try shootme. It is meant for rooted devices but they say right in the description that it works on some non rooted devices as well. Chances are if you want SS's you are going to have to root.
