My aim has always been to keep your device fun and exciting as I've tried to do now for over a year. Boot RANDimations I believe does just that, it was an idea I had a little while back to play a random boot animation from a folder every time you boot into Android, keeping the wonderful Android operating system always fun and exciting with every boot.

Boot RANDimations has over 130 boot animations currently with many more to come! You can also add your own by placing animations at /sdcard/RANDimations (this folder will be created by the app).

    ***Main Features***
    ✓ 130+ boot animations
✓ A new boot animation every time you boot up
✓ Backs up your /system/media and /data/local boot animations by moving them automatically to the folder RANDimations created on your sdcard.
    ✓ Fully themed
    ✓ Add your own animations
    ✓ Great dev support :)
✓ Much More to Come Including More Apps!

Hey gflam I am lgb1.5 and for some reason my boot animations will not change on reboot.
Edit: so I pressed on one in the already El section and hit "set as next boot". Nothing same boot animation. Not sure if it was the update or if it is the rom.

Probably just the app there is another update coming out within the next day or 2 that should fix all of the problems I doubt the rom would really cause any problem just some bad code I guess just hard to test everything out with only one device but now that I know the problems others are having I can get stuff fixed.

O and btw big update coming within the next few days that will allow u to set a custom directory where the animations will be moved to. This is because the app only moves the animations to /data/local so if ur phone doesn't play the animations from there it will not work at the moment but will be updated within the next few days

Update released today that allows the user to set the directory as well as the name of the zip for where the random animation will be placed. It can be found in the app menu and is set to /data/local/bootanimation.zip by default

Where do you have the boot animation directory set to? it's in the menu of the app you can set a custom install directory just set it to where your current boot animation is and it should move it just fine. If you continue to have problems send me a pm and we'll get it fixed no problem.

Also it takes a reboot for the first switch to be made. That is once you install the app if you reboot you will have your old animation. Then once you reboot again it will start up the random. It has a listener for when the phone turns on and that's when it moves the random boot animation. Every time once you get fully booted it will make a random switch for the next boot which is why it takes one reboot for a switch to be made

Hey..... I just bought it. Just a couple of questions to stop the forceclosing. :-/

What did you mean by "Must put what the zip should be named at the end?
After I install the boot animation (it is automatically going to /data/local..... I think.....), what then?

I read the previous posts, but I don't understand exactly what you mean by "setting a custom directory" I rebooted and all I got was a gold bar on my screen. I deleted my old boot animation prior to using this. Do I have to rename it "bootanimation.zip"?

Sorry for the inexperienced questions. My phone is Droid X. Thanks.
