App on homes screens. Will this slow things down?

I have 2.2 on my droid 1. 4 out of my 5 screens are fully used with mostly apps and a couple widgets. Will this slow my droid down?

Sometimes when I go to the home screen it takes a few for the apps to show up. I just have a blank screens. If this a result of all the apps on the home screens or just something with 2.2?

I'm rooted and have all 5 screens filled. When moving between screens, I have no lag. If you have a launcher that may be causing the delay.

I am not rooted and I do not use launcher.

Forgot to ask -- do you have a task killer? That may be contributing to the slowness. I would remove the launcher and task killer, if installed.

I have app killer. I do not have launcher pro.

I thought app killer was the thing everyone needed?
