My phone isn't booting anymore. The screen powers on, but nothing displays. I have a nandroid backup from about a month ago, but wish I'd done one more recently so the changes were saved. Is there any chance, any way, anything I can do to possibly make an image of the phone to copy to the replacement?

That said, it's been a while since I've had to do this. There seem to be a lot of new ways to root, change the recovery, and new ROMs. Any consensus on the best way to go about this?

What's the best recovery now (I was using nandroid backups) and the best method to install it/root from what I assume will be a stock 2.2 replacement (or do they come 2.1)?

If I get a stock 2.1 Ill need to add a ROM that gets me busybox, wifi tether, overclocking and 2.2, but I'd like it as close to stock as possible. Any suggestions?

If it comes with 2.2 I guess I wont need a ROM, just rooting and enabling those previously mentioned features. Suggestions on odex/deodex?
