I am looking, too. So far I can't figure it out, but it would sure be nice to set a song as the alarm instead of the ringgggggggg that is in there!

I sure appreciate all the info in here.. I am new to all this. Thanks!

On the topic of clocks.
I use Klaxon at night in a media dock as my alarm clock.
The display dims nicely for night time but the 4 soft keys remain lit.
Is there a way to dim the 4 soft keys?
They light the room and I cover them with a piece of cardboard.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike

If your rooted, leds hack in the market works good. I use it every night.

There is an app called Tone Picker that allows you to choose any mp3 file to use as your notification ringtone. It also allows you to record a sound to use. I had the same frustration, but this app has made it much nicer.

Tone Picker - MP3 Ringtones - Android app on AppBrain

my 2 cents :) I've played around with many alarms and I like math alarm, you have to do a few math problems to turn off the alarm and its amazing how difficult simple math can be after a long night, but it sure gets you up :)

oh and you can use mp3's as your alarm or play list :) I either wake up to Bonethugs 1st of the month(the perfect alarm clock song) or Dennis Leary a-hole depending on the day of the week :)

I bought gentle alarm and like it. It has an interesting pre-alarm feature (selectable) which issues a very quiet alarm a selectable time before your primary alarm to wake you if you happen to be at a good waking point in your sleep cycle. It also has a very nice nighttime display (selectable color, brightness).

I use Better Alarm Clock. I usually choose a song from my music to set for the next mornings alarm. It replaces the stock alarm clock template and works great in my Seidio desktop dock.

Do the 4 soft menu keys stay lit when the clock is lit?

Unfortunately, they do. I usually put the Droid to sleep when I'm sleeping so the lights don't bother me.

I forgot to mention that you can dim the display. The clock moves around the screen with minimal display. Compared to my standard LED alarm clock, the overall light emitted is less.
