Why does the default browser not do animations, like animating radar maps? Also, it doesn't work with gifs like in the tumblr app. This worked on my Droid 2. Is there any kind of fix or something?

Maybe the animations need adobe flash installed?

Well flash is installed on my phone. Anyway, as far as I know animated gifs don't require flash. I don't know what connection there would be between the two.

Do you have load images and enable plug-ins checked in browser settings?

As far as flash and radar imagery goes, weather.com, not the mobile site, but the full site requires adobe flash for the radar animation to work.

Yes, and I downloaded a gif viewer. Even with that app gifs are not animated.

I'm assuming you don't have a droid charge?

Anyone else attempted to view animated gifs on their Droid Charge? Anyone successful? And How?

I downloaded flash player, browser animations are good now (just assumed it came pre installed) . Gifs still don't work, which seriously makes no sense at all if my droid 1 and 2 did it

I just went from a Droid X to a Samsung Droid Charge, and none of my radar animations will play. Anybody figured it out yet?

couple of factory resets.....had Adobe Flash 10.3. downgraded back to 10.1, and reupdated back to 10.3.
Nothing. Love this phone, but have to have animations!

Apparently animated GIFs are something that the manufacturer can enable or disable as I understand it. Samsung has it disabled for some odd reason in the stock browser. My OG droid and Droid 2 both had it enabled. It is NOT related to flash! Animated GIFs don't use flash. Most radar sites (wunderground etc.) use animated GIFs for the radar screens.

The only way I've been able to get them to work is by using Firefox interestingly enough. I HATE it...but I have to have them for work.
