Is there a way to get animated gifs to work in the browser (or any other app) in BB V1.1? The last rom I was on for a while (UD10) had this working somehow. Since I switched to BB, it has proven to be far superior in EVERY way except this.

    Any help?

The reason GIF's work in Froyo but not in Eclair is because of the V8 engine. BB1.1 doesn't use the V8 engine, but CyanogenMod, and therefore Ultimate Droid, use it, so they got animated GIF's. All you have to do is get the libwebcore.so out of /system/lib (just search the update.zip of CM or UD, it's pretty easy to find) then push it to /system/lib, sync and reboot. That simple. Or you can get it here (just remembered I had it in my 4shared)

    libwebcore.so

PLEASE NOTE: This version may break a limited number of apps, so don't hold me accountable

I've been following this discussion, since i really want animated gifs working in my browser.

Quick question - what do you mean by sync then reboot? is "sync" Droid Specific (I have an EVO)? As of a reboot, all I get is an FC.

    Thanks a bunch.
