Agreed. Would be a fun toy and you can't beat the cost to be an early adopter. They lost a few thousand out of nowhere the other day and aren't even quite up to where they were when I signed up.

Doesn't your pledge get returned anyways if they don't reach their goal? (That's how it used to be at least.... but then I haven't funded any kickstarter projects in about a year, so it may have changed)

Nope, to be honest the only reason I went there was because of this thread. Though I know about kickstarter I did not know the details as I have yet to ever back anyone.

I was just reading the FAQ. They don't charge you unless it's fully backed by the deadline, though they may do a temporary hold on funds.

I doubt I'd have backed them if that wasn't the way I understood it.

Where you can get screwed is that kickstarter doesn't guarantee that the creator will fulfill their promises, so it could actually be scarier if they make their goal.

So this project never did get funded. They didn't quit, however, and just released a free beta. You can grab it, or read more about it at Google Play.

My Remix Ultra Tablet really kind of filled the void for me in this space. And with that, my phone doesn't end up in a dock or otherwise less accessible so that it can pretend it's a little computer-esque thing.
