Problem solved: (using the following steps)

1. tap Android Menu to bring up options
2. choose SETTINGS option & then scroll down to and tap PRIVACY
3. within PRIVACY SETTINGS menu, tap the FACTORY DATA RESET option & on next screen choose whether you want to wipe all data on device, all data on external SD memory card, or both, by filling in appropriate check boxes - then confirm by tapping RESET
4. you'll be prompted one more time on FACTORY DAT RESET screen
5. if ready to erase everything, tap ERASE EVERYTHING and the process will begin

This also works on Android phones!

Cheers everyone ~~~
