    Ok like I posted last time with previous OTA's. Since Pete doesnt have BB V0.6 ready yet, this is his BB v0.5 build.prop altered to stop the OTA notification for 2.2.1.

    Simple steps:

    -Put the update.zip on your SD /root
    -Reboot into Recovery
    -Wipe your cache(3 times for good measure)
    -Install the update.zip
    -Reboot and enjoy.

    This is just a temporary fix until pete releases v0.6 in the coming days.

    My bad... forgot to attach...

    btw... repeating this is not my work. This is petes build.prop that I simply changed to work with the new OTA.

    Enjoy Guys.

    Or just change your build.prop:
    ro.build.description=voles-user 2.3 FRG83D 50454 release-keys
    ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2/FRG83D/50454:user/release-keys

    Much easier, and you don't have to rely on virus infested files you download from the internet.

    Thank you MVP.

    build.prop is a text file that resides in the /system directory. You can use Astro or Root Explorer or the Terminal app to edit it, since you're rooted.

    Easy like pi!

    50454 is the incremental version number of FRG22D, not FRG83D.

    This is what you want:

    ro.build.description=voles-user 2.2.1 FRG83 60505 release-keys
    ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2.1/FRG83/60505:user/release-keys

    EDIT: And since there is no 2.3 Gingerbread OTA for the D1, what is the OP trying to accomplish?

    Verizon is pushing an update, not Gingerbread, but 2.2.1, so for the D1, it should be:

    ro.build.description=voles-user 2.2.1 FRG83D 75603 release-keys
    ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2.1/FRG83D/75603:user/release-keys

    Attached is D1 fix.

    That's it, that's the one. I didn't even realize I had posted the info for FRG83, not '83D...whoops. :p

    My mistake. Seeing as I have not actually accepted the update myself, and I was in a rush when posting, I just looked at the first post I saw regarding the frg83d update and it indicated it was 2.3... Regardless, the patch does what its supposed to.

    Agreed, easier. But as I mentioned which the previous 2.2 OTA patch I posted. Some people are more comfortable with the update.zip routine rather than just editing it themselves. Lastly, Id appreciate it if the word virus wasnt thrown around so carelessly in such close proximity to my attachments. Im certain you werent insinuating my post was a virus but we all have to be careful about how our words are interpreted. :)

    It's your custom recovery that blocked it.
