"Yes, Android 2.2 which is nicknamed Froyo, has come onto the scene today in a big way because Android and Me is reporting that their analytics have picked up increased testing of the operating system by Google. This is coming on the heels of rumors a few days ago that the Nexus One would possibly be getting an OTA update soon which means that it’s not farfetched to think Google has something planned soon.

Apparently the features for Android 2.2 have been locked in stone and they are rumored to be any of these:

    • JIT compiler
    • Free additional RAM
    • OpenGL ES 2.0 enhancements
    • Flash 10.1 support
    • Fixed problem with “crazy screen” / Resolution of cross multitouch
    • Activation of Color Trackball
    • Enable FM radio"

Android 2.2 could be out next month

Already been posted. And the majority of those fixes/upgrades are for the N1.
