i have searched the forums but haven't found anything on this. apps i download on amazon are not showing up in my market "my apps" and i have to keep up with both amazon and market for updates. is there an app that will track both places so that i have one centralized location to keep up with my apps?

You are correct about apps downloaded from Amazon not showing up on the Market or on Google's "My Market Account". But they will show up on the Amazon Appstore app you downloaded when you got your first app through Amazon. And presumably you will go there to check for updates to those apps.
It's annoying, but you may have to keep going back into settings to check and uncheck blocking apps from unknown sources each time you use Amazon, if you want to prevent accidental downloads from installing on your phone.
