I'm trying to install my first custom rom on my Droid (using Rom Manager). Do I always have to "wipe data and cache" when I change from one rom to another?

I've seen people on the boards here talking about changing roms pretty frequently, so are they having to re-install all their apps, settings, everything else each and every time?

Based on developer instructions you can avoid wiping only if upgrading from one version to another on the same rom.

I treat it like a PC. I always do a clean install when going from one version of Windows to the next.
