But eh I found out it on my own though I'm pretty sure its common knowledge. Here we go. Keyboard reset. Push "Alt"-"caps"-"del" hold for a second and reset very useful when the power button isn't responding and you don't want to battery pull.

Umm I also got an issue probably not the best place to put it but might as well... on the homescreen I can no longer go to landscape mode unless I pull out the keyboard... phone is unrooted and it doesn't matter if I use stock wallpaper or my own. Any idea why?

You too? Could it be an app or update that caused this? The only thing I didn't try was a reset to factory settings cause I don't want to lose contacts and stuff.

if i wasn't actually using my phone i would do a nandroid backup, then reset to factory defaults (after removing the SDcard..idk if factory reset messes with that also) and test it.

    then do a nandroid restore.

so if you aren't using your phone atm for something...feel free

You guys know there is a checkbox in settings that turns the orientation feature off. I would bet you have an app running that prevents automatic orientation changing, or just somehow hit the checkbox yourself. Also, if you have screebl running that doesn't allow it unless the phone is in the recognized range.

I did know about the settings option, it was the first thing I checked...I'm thinking it might have to do with the replacement kernel for wifi tethering, similar to the keyboard backlight defect it has.

Have you installed the custom kernel for wifi tether also sockmess?

the custom kernel required for wifi tethering has a few bugs.

if your wifi tethering works..whether you did it manually or through a backup, you replaced your kernel with one that has netfilter support.

The fact that the screen does not rotate when the keyboard closed is an intended feature, it seems.

I'm a newb to the droid but damn man... of course I checked the orientation feature. It could be an app that prevents the function but I deleteted the newest app I put in after I had this problem and it didn't fixed the problem.

I only tether via usb with pdanet

Homescreen never rotated without keyboard open. Never.

The only way it has ever done this is while using a home replacement app.

I thought I remember the homescreen flipping to landscape without the keyboard being open. But I could be mistaken.

I'm pretty positive the screen rotated without the keyboard being open. I remember that I preferred checking my notifications that way.

Maybe it was one of the updates I installed or something? ShopSavvy?
