almost rooted, but need help!

    make sure you select allow installation above it first.

    Are you sure you put the update.zip file directly on the root of your sdcard? It simply sounds like it can't find it. Maybe it's still in your download folder if you used your Droid to dl it.

    What windows system did you use to push it onto your sd card? I know that on mine (windows xp) it puts the .zip extension on there for me. When renaming the file to update if you put .zip then you most likely have .zip.zip which will cause that. Go back to your computer, check the properties of the update file, if needed remove the .zip, mount your droid, delete the update file from the sd card then push the new update to your sd card. then installl.

    ding ding ding! was naming it update.zip, when it only needed to be labeled update!! thanks dlwhtrose and kaboyd. now, onto the good stuff...
