Alarms

I have all three alarms set on my Droid X, 3 times a day. However, no matter what alert tone I use, I can't hear it. I have my phone volume set as loud as it will go, plus, I have checked the use increasing volume box in the alarm settings. I also have the vibrate box checked. Is there another setting I should be using? I have only had this phone for about 3 weeks so I am still learning. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi again. I have another question. On my old phone I could lock the text messages I wanted to save. So far I have not figured out how to do the same on my Droid X. Is this even possible?
